Why we’re top of the family law rankings
We’re celebrating this week after our Jones Myers LLP team consolidated its reputation as one of the top three family law firms in Yorkshire by scooping joint first tier rankings in the esteemed Chambers 2012 legal guide.
Acknowledged as “utterly brilliant” and “very efficient and professional” by Chambers, our 25-strong Leeds based practice, headed by leading UK divorce lawyer Peter Jones, is ranked in the top tier alongside Mills & Reeve, whose family law team is among the biggest worldwide – and Irwin Mitchell which boasts over 1000 partners and associates on a national and global scale.
Praised for maintaining our “excellent reputation” and our “very honest and transparent” client service, partners Peter Jones and Fiona Kendall, who are both trained mediators, are individually ranked alongside colleague Richard Peaker – who achieved a top tier position – and consultant Norman Taylor.
Chambers feedback from our clients highlights how Peter Jones, who set up Jones Myers in 1992, “Adopts a sensitive and easy-going approach and stands all parties in good stead in complex financial disputes”. Partner Fiona Kendall who is dual-qualified in Scottish and English law, is described as, “Well placed to advise on cross-border cases… experienced in cohabitation matters, and clients appreciate her “forthright and supportive” manner”.
The guide outlines how our clients describe partner Richard Peaker, who advises high net worth clients on matrimonial finance disputes, as “Empathetic and provides clear, succinct advice detailing all the risks in the situation“ – while consultant Norman Taylor, “Has the experience and ability to explore all the possibilities in a dispute – he will think outside the box.”
We also want to take this opportunity to say a big ‘thank you’ to our valued clients and partners who have played a key role in our continued success and achievements over the years.
